Legend says Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married here, in the Satya Yuga.
Lord Vishnu stood as Parvati’s brother, and Lord Brahma performed the rites.
The fire that witnessed their marriage is said to have burned for three yugas. It still burns today.
Holy water flows into the temple’s Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund and Brahma Kund.
